This 3-week session is all about the field trips! Check them out below:
February 2 – Amazing Eagles. Join us as we once again visit the Audubon Center of the Riverlands where we will learn about the Bald Eagle through interactive sessions both inside and on the trails. Students should dress for a hike and bring a sack lunch to enjoy.
February 9 – The Great Rivers Museum. Students will get a bird’s eye view from atop the Melvin Price Lock and Dam. Rangers will guide us through a behind the scenes look at this engineering masterpiece. Students will learn about modern navigation and the economic importance of the Mississippi River. Each student will have the opportunity to build their own flood plain.
February 23 – Tour of Springfield. What a great month to visit the Lincoln Historical sites in Springfield. Our day will begin by touring the Presidential Museum, followed by a stroll through the Lincoln neighborhood and a picnic lunch. Our tour of Springfield will conclude with a tour of the Dana Thomas House, which was built in 1902 by the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Students should dress appropriately for the weather and bring a sack lunch.
We will need a limited number of parent chaperones for the above trips. If interested, please reach out to Laura Gray at 618-636-0620 or at ccsoffice@calbap.org.
